A meaningful evaluation of the group BTS J-Hope's solo song "Chicken Noodle Soup/feat. Becky G" drew attention.
"Chicken Noodle Soup" presented its first stage in about a year and eight months since it was announced at the "BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo" performance held on the 14th. With all BTS members participating in the performance against the backdrop of Dong-ki Lee's artwork on stage, the music video's masterpieces were reenacted, drawing keen attention.
"Chicken noodle soup'' is already a revolution on YouTube,,'' said Arata, a Japanese dancer and choreographer and instructor at Tokyo International School. A video titled 'Muster Sowoozoo Day 2' was posted.
In the video, Arata said, "The important message of this song is 'diversity'. From children to men and women, both men and women were shown to become one. "I think that's why J-Hope chose this song." In fact, the stage started with young dancers showing freestyle dance, and about 40 professional male and female dancers appeared.
"I did a 'free circle' where BTS members came out to the center one by one to dance, and I saw a message that J-Hope usually delivered, 'Dancing is really fun and cool.' "It's great to have a music video scene on a big stage," he explained. The music video of "Chicken Noodle Soup" filmed in Los Angeles, USA, features dozens of professional dancers, who transcend age, gender, race, and country, enjoying the dance battle together.
Arata also said about J-Hope's dance, "It's amazing to see him riding the flow at the end of the free dance. He dances really well. "I realized once again that I am from hip-hop. Arata has been analyzing the dances of numerous K-pop artists in depth since 2018, and he highly appreciates J-Hope's dance skills and calls them "Great Teacher."
Even after its announcement, "Chicken Noodle Soup" received positive reviews in terms of cultural convergence.
The U.S. Billboard cited "the lyrics are made up of three languages, Korean, Spanish and English." Pop Dust, an American music media outlet, said, "It is the most diverse and multicultural collaboration ever." Former Foreign Minister Kyung-wha Kang said at the 2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Summit Cultural Innovation Forum, "It is a good example of the creation of content that drives the world crazy when culture, creativity and talent are combined."
J-Hope recreated his solo song using the chorus of "Chicken Noodle Soup" (Webstar, Young B/2006), which he enjoyed when he started learning to dance as a child. He took the lead in writing lyrics, composing, choreography, costumes, accessories, and filming music videos. In the music video, the last scene where all the cast members mix together was known as J-Hope's idea.
Becky, who participated in the featuring, also enjoyed "Chicken Noodle Soup" when she was young. Latin America doubled the meaning of the song with lyrics such as "I came from here/Nobody thought a woman would be this great."
Fans around the world have given meaning to and cheered for "Korean artists singing songs of black American artists newly with Mexican-American female artists" in terms of respect and exchange for culture.
