A drama based on a popular webtoon visits the small screen once again. "True Beauty," in which Moon Ga-young and Cha Eun-woo worked together, is ready to meet with viewers, heralding an academy romance featuring the growing youth.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, an online production presentation for tvN's new Wednesday-Thursday drama "True Beauty" (directed by Sang-hyeop Kim, planned tvN and Studio Dragon, produced by Bon Factory and Studio N) was held on Naver TV.
The production presentation was attended by director Sang-hyeop Kim and leading actors such as Ga-young Moon, Eun-woo Cha, In-yeop Hwang and Yu-na Park.
"True Beauty" is a romantic comedy drama in which Joo-kyung Lim (played by Ga-young Moon), who had an appearance complex and became a goddess through "makeup," and Soo-ho Lee (played by Eun-woo Cha), who kept their male mother's wounds, meet to share secrets with each other and grow up.
Regarding "True Beauty," director Kim said, "It's a refreshing and lively academy romance, but it's a drama that depicts Ju-kyung's funny growth pains," adding, "It made me hope that calm and pleasant emotions will be conveyed to you."
"True Beauty" is a work based on a popular webtoon of the same name by a kitty writer, and it was expected even before the show. "At first, I read the webtoon thinking whether it was just a story of a high school girl wearing makeup and building up a fantasy," Kim said. "I felt Ju-kyung's pain as some kind of setting up a strange absurdity with the people of this era living in reality. I thought it would be a bit more refreshing if I did it in a comedy, so I decided to produce it."
