BLACKPINK'S "Ice Cream" Avatar Character Dance Video, 100 Million View

The avatar character dance video modeled after the actual appearance of the group BLACKPINK surpassed 100 million views on YouTube.

According to its agency YG Entertainment on the 20th, BLACKPINK's "Ice Cream" dance performance video received more than 100 million views on YouTube at 7:30 a.m. that day.

It has been five months since it was released in September last year, and it is BLACKPINK's 26th billion-view video.

This video was created in collaboration with Black Pink and ZEPETO, an augmented reality (AR) avatar app.

The members do not appear in person, and their avatar characters perform in accordance with the choreography of "Ice Cream." It also features pop star Selena Gomez's character as a featured artist.

BLACKPINK showed contents using avatar characters, including dance videos at the time, as well as virtual fan signing events that take pictures and sign autographs with fans in ZEPETO. The event received great acclaim with more than 46 million participants from all over the world.

"Ice Cream" is a cheerful and cute concept that BLACKPINK tried for the first time after putting down its girl-crush charm.

In the first week of its release, it was a worldwide hit, ranking 13th as a K-pop girl group on the U.S. Billboard's main single chart, "Hot 100."
