Top idol group BTS officially confirmed its summer song comeback in May, signaling a global hit following its hit song "Dynamite" in 2020.

BTS agency Big Hit Music announced the release of BTS's new digital single "Butter" on its official BTS fan community Weverse on the 27th and announced that "Butter" will be released on major music sites at 1 p.m. on May 21."

Big Hit Music says of 'Butter,' "It's a song that exudes the charm of BTS that will melt like butter into your daily lives. "We want you to enjoy it together and fall in love with BTS, who is sometimes soft and sometimes charismatic."

BTS plans to release a new album containing several new songs, including "Butter," in June after the release of its pre-released form of "Butter."

Prior to this, BTS had been slowly preparing for their comeback through solo songs and pre-released songs. Following the release of "Film out" on the 2nd, BTS will release its best album "BTS, THE BEST" in Japan on June 16. On top of that, member V also mentioned that he plans to release his solo song in the form of a mixtape.

Starting his comeback countdown, BTS naturally entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Film Out," showing off his robustness. "Film Out" will debut at number 81 on the "Billboard" Hot 100 chart on April 17, 2021. BTS had previously reached number 14 on the Billboard 200 chart with their fourth Japanese album, MAP OF THE SOUL:7~THE JOURNEY, released in August 2020, and this is the first time they have been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with Japanese songs. "Film Out" is the theme song of the Japanese film "The Theater Signal Long-Term Unresolved Case Investigation Team" and the ballad number in which member Jungkook participated in the composition.

In the meantime, BTS has a busy schedule ahead of its comeback in the first half of the year. BTS is also set to hold a nomination for the British Music Awards on May 11 and a nomination for three categories of the "2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards" on May 27.
